Greetings, I am Shriji Shah (Sh-REE-GEE), an information security professional and writer residing in the Greater Toronto Area. This website was created in 2023 as a way to expand upon my original site and serve as a platform for gathering and sharing technical knowledge with others.
Rather than seeing this site as just a project, it holds significant meaning to me as a reflection of my passion for learning and desire to leave a lasting impact. My approach to utilizing this platform differs from those who see it as a way to express their thoughts or establish an online presence. Instead, I use it as a means to organize and share all that I have learned and hope to learn in the future.
I believe that everyone has valuable insights to share, and I am excited to contribute my knowledge to this community. Thank you for taking the time to visit my site, and I hope you find the information here helpful.
Interests and Hobbies
Greetings, dear reader! Are you curious about the things that tickle my fancy? Well then, sit back, relax, and let me take you on a tour of my world of interests and activities.
First off, I am a big fan of cross-discipline reading. I mean, why settle for one when you can have it all, right? I love immersing myself in evolutionary biology/psychology, existentialism, logic, rhetoric, dialectic, history, sociology, statistics, technology, politics, and security. I know, I know, it's a mouthful, but trust me, it's worth it. Nothing beats the rush of building towards a more complete and nuanced reality model.
But it's not all just serious brainwork for me. I also have a soft spot for art and design. I mean, who doesn't love pretty things, am I right? Typography, in particular, never fails to make my heart skip a beat. And don't even get me started on anything that's visually interesting or beautiful. I could stare at them for hours on end.
And what do I do when I'm not busy expanding my mind and feasting my eyes? Well, I play video games and tabletop RPGs, of course! I'm a sucker for the Final Fantasy franchise, Elden Ring, and any typical JRPG. I also have a special place in my heart for Pathfinder2e and Dungeons and Dragons 5e. There's just something about immersing yourself in a world of magic, monsters, and adventure that never gets old.
Oh, and did I mention that I love to keep track of the good books I've read? I mean, who wouldn't want to keep a record of all the amazing stories they've experienced?
